At Knock on Wood, we celebrate wood in its truest form. Its natural aesthetics make for a pleasing atmosphere and the wood grain allows for rather exquisite visuals to go with most backdrops. Whether homes, offices, showrooms, or interior projects, Knock on Wood can provide the custom wood furniture that can go well with your choice of location, thanks to our 40-acre workshop premises and a team of dedicated craftsman that grant corporeal form to our designs.

But it wasn’t like this all along. The story of Knock on Wood is a story about our passion for eloquent designs with one of nature’s finest creations, stretching back to more than two decades.

Origins

Starting out in early 2000 in a garage, all we had was some essential tools, a couple of workmen, and an idea. Over the years, we worked on various design projects, eventually establishing our own design company. ‘House of Design’ was the foundation for the legacy of Knock on Wood. A brand dedicated to cherishing the quirks of wood, at the same time combating the dearth of custom-created quality furniture.

Our Journey

Over the next two decades, Knock on Wood would grow from a design company to a full-fledged manufacturer of custom wood furniture. Taking inspiration from elegant Scandinavian designs that bring out beauty from simplicity, we design products that do the same with traditional Indian craftsmanship that echoes through the ages.

In 2019, we embarked on a whole new path in our journey with Knock on Wood Exports. Taking our Make in India initiative across the world, Knock on Wood carved new story and expressions on an international scale with the wide range of wood and metal furniture. Today, we are able to ship simple yet bold designs around the world within a decent time frame. Even Massimo Dutti couldn’t resist our designs in one of their prime location showrooms.

Throughout the years, Knock on Wood has been blessed with various national and international awards. From product design to lifestyle and architecture, many of our laurels come from prestigious establishments like the Institute of Indian Interior Designers, IHGF Delhi, the Perspective Magazine from Hong Kong, and A’ Design in Europe.

Where We’re Headed

In our quest to break through to the next generation of wood and metal furniture designs, Knock on Wood employs the best tools available at our disposal. To fulfill our vision of crafting furniture pieces that are the unison of art, science and functionality, we have retrofitted our campus with the best design software, updated with the latest testing kits to inculcate efficient designs.

And it is not just limited to the computers, either. Knock on Wood makes use of advanced plasma cutting fibre lasers and a 5-axis CNC machine to achieve high-grade precision needed to produce consistent quality repeatedly.

Nevertheless, it is still a long way before we achieve our goal in not only conserving traditional craftsmanship but also creating meaningful expressions from our workpieces to spread all around the globe. Luckily, we have with us a team of designers from the best design institutes in the world, skilled craftsman and dedicated workmen, each one of whom share our vision for more sustainable and natural design to impact households and business locations alike.
